In 1988, Greg Stump released his seminal ski film, The Blizzard of AAAAAHH’s, which shifted ski culture away from rigid racing gates and toward cliff-drops, hot-dogging, and neon-clad rebellion. At the exact same time, early snowboarders (often decked out in similar neon and shiny fabrics) were fighting for the right to ride the chairlifts at major resorts.
